The INSIGHT PROSTATE initiative aims to enhance patient education and facilitate more informed communication between healthcare professionals, patients, and their families regarding prostate cancer. Designed with clarity and comprehensiveness in mind, it offers detailed insights into prostate anatomy, the disease process, diagnostic procedures, and treatment options, available in both English and German.

Rooted in a survey examining physicians’ needs within the healthcare system, the project recognizes the importance of targeted digital tools to support clinical practice. As such, INSIGHT PROSTATE responds to these needs by providing a resource that fosters improved dialogue and collaboration among all parties involved in prostate cancer management.

For patients and relatives, the application offers accessible, visual, and intuitive information that empowers them to participate more actively in treatment decisions. Its user-friendly interface ensures that complex medical concepts are conveyed clearly, enabling a better understanding of the disease and available interventions.

Beyond its utility for patients and families, INSIGHT PROSTATE serves as an educational tool for medical students and future urologists. It presents a detailed, interactive overview of prostate anatomy and pathology, supporting medical training with accurate and engaging visual content.

Utilizing ARKit technology, the app allows users to scan their physical environment and interactively visualize a three-dimensional model of the prostate. Guided by the virtual assistant ANI, users can explore various stages of prostate health and disease, from macroscopic anatomy to microscopic details.

The platform also visualizes pathological changes associated with prostate diseases through anatomically accurate 3D representations. This innovative approach aims to bridge knowledge gaps by making complex pathological conditions more comprehensible for patients.

As an extension of its innovative digital health tools, INSIGHT PROSTATE signifies a significant step toward more informed patient engagement and multidisciplinary cooperation in prostate cancer care.
